This essay I've aimed at conservatives and my fellow Republicans for a reason. Though this can apply to Libertarians too. I've been a creative for many years. Whether it’s drawing, writing, acting, etc. I’ve always had a special place in my heart for the arts.
But with this culture war that’s getting fought its way overdue time I spoke up. This as I stated goes out to my fellow Republicans and conservatives. Though this can apply to Libertarians too. I say this because we are holding ourselves back from a great gift given to us. And it's high time we started using it.
It’s way overdue time to embrace the arts rather than rejecting, ignoring, and trying to silence it. One reason American culture and entertainment are in disarray is this hard truth. The Conservative establishment made a grave mistake in dismissing the arts. And that’s what’s allowed the far left in this country to gain such a stranglehold of it. It’s time to open to creativity, wonder and imagination.
It’s time to embrace acting, writing, drawing, and all things which are good in our culture. The arts are tools that can get used for both good and ill. I agree there's a lot of bad stuff in our entertainment these days. I’ve seen how it’s gone downhill.
The culture war is a worthy cause to fight for. But what we should be fighting for is to provide balance. We need balance in our culture. That’s a big part of how we make America great again. There are solutions to this issue. In this essay, I’ll provide answers on how to win the culture war and take back entertainment.
Now the first thing we need is this truth. The future of entertainment can get summed up in one word: decentralization. Hollywood is failing thanks to their embracing the woke agenda. Hollywood's also failing because they're embracing ESG as the bean counters want. Having done my research on Environmental Social Governance, I can say this.
This is nothing more than a glorified sucker’s game.
So, people should risk alienating customers old and new? All based on the vague and unlikely hope that some woke investor will decide to give them money. Yeah, people would do better to take their chances with pleasing the customers. That's a sure-fire way to make money thank you very much! Most people don’t want politics in their entertainment when they get home from a long day of work.
Most people want to escape from reality into other worlds for a while. And this is where we can come in. With Hollywood having gone as insane as it has what we have here is a golden opportunity. A savvy businessman can get entertainment out of Hollywood and somewhere else. And show Hollywood what real entertainment is about.
Let’s not tell conservative or Republican stories, let’s tell stories. It’s all about the mantra of ‘Story, story, story.” We can inject our ideas into these stories. But let’s weave them in instead of pounding people over the head with them. We don’t need to be ham-fisted let's be subtle and artistic.
Let’s have memorable characters and stories that people can relate to.
But make no mistake don't concentrate on the message only. We must tell a good story with what we do. Whether it's in a movie, show, or music we must do this. A great example of this is voice actor and musician Vic Mignogna. He released an album which is available on Apple, Spotify, and Amazon.
We have the technology and resources for those who know how. A good savvy conservative minded businessman who understands things could see the possibilities.
Now a key facet of this is a couple somethings that need to get addressed. This call out I’m aiming at Matt Walsh. First, I appreciate what he did with What is a woman. These transgender activists need calling out. That said, I have to call out Matt Walsh on certain things.
First off, his attitude and lack of understanding of anime was very disconcerting. Contrary to what Matt Walsh has said anime is not satanic! Yes, it’s true there are demons and devils in some shows.
But there are also angels, Gods, and goddesses in it too. Also, anyone who says anime promotes pedophilia has zero understanding of anime.
Looking at it from the surface level is rather petty. Instead look at the nuance, storytelling, and character development. There's a lot from anime that we could put to good use to create a better product than Hollywood.
Also, not all anime is of a sexual nature. Anime is an art style, not a genre. There’s lots of genres in anime so there’s room for everything. There's anime out there which is very wholesome. Some prime examples of this are the following.
My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service are two examples of good anime movies. Both produced by Japanese filmmaker and legend Hayao Miyazaki.
Starblazers is a little more on the gritty side of things. It looks at war, bravery, and even death and does so in a way that’s wholesome. In my area Star Blazers AKA Space battleship Yamato aired on KPDX 49 when the channel first debuted.
Next up as an example we have Hamtaro. He's a furry little hamster who has all kinds of adventures with his gang of friends. This show is as wholesome as it gets.
As the final example I would point out a lesser-known anime that many have overlooked. A little show called Superbook.
In it a little girl, boy, and their robot friend have a magical book. With it they explore stories from the Bible. And so, the narrative of anime being satanic gets shattered. And this series shows why anime is not something to fear.
We need to embrace and use anime as it’s like any other tool. It can get used for good or ill. A good mechanic uses all their tools when fixing a car. So, let’s use all the tools including anime to make American culture great again. By God let's take our culture back.
And after the reasoning I’ve given if anyone still believes anime is satanic and evil I would say this to them. Are you so insecure in your faith in Christ that you believe anything that differs from you is evil? Do you think all creativity is bad? Because if that’s the case then take a long and hard look at yourselves. Because the close-minded attitude is what got us into this mess.
As said anime is not evil, it is not satanic, and it doesn't promote pedophilia.
Now the second issue with Matt Walsh is his attitude towards video games. Yes, it is true there are some video games out there for kids. But it's not good for a young child to be playing Resident Evil, Silent Hill, or even the 7th Guest. That's why there are ratings for games, to empower the parents! There are games out there which are for adults only.
The video game industry has many genres in it. Ranging from slice of life, horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. There are even puzzle games and sports games. Again, leave it up to the parents to decide.
Let’s be very clear on this, video games are not only for children. They do not cause people to become more violent. Although I have heard people let out a few curses from the video game version of UNO. But in all fairness, such is true with the real-life card game too. Video games do not cause people to become sexist or racist.
With the video game industry under siege from the far left there’s a golden opportunity here. We can create great games that will sell like hotcakes. Whether it's in physical media form, or on sites like STEAM and GOG.com. We have a chance to make something great so let's take that chance.
We can create our own gaming studios, art houses, and movie studios. We can create our own comic book companies and publishing houses. There are even ways to make good stuff online. The Internet is full of all kinds of potential. So, Let's make our own stuff and show how we can make a better product.
We can create alternatives in all forms of entertainment. This country became great through hard working people who risked everything. It's way overdue time to get some backbone and start taking chances again. Let's create new stuff in entertainment and let's make the public happy again. Let's also provide jobs for newcomers and seasoned pros looking for a fresh start.
The possibilities in the artistic world are endless.
In the movie industry there's Angel Studios. They're producing they're own stories including Sound of Freedom.
In comics there’s Eric July AKA Youngrippa59 and his company Rippaverse. They're producing stuff such as ISOM and Yaira. There is no limit to those who have the courage to put their minds to making material.
On my end I'll be lending a hand with my own fiction writing.
Fellow Republicans and Conservatives the time to act is now! Rather than ignore or censor culture let’s embrace it. Let's use the tools there to tell our own stories. Let’s bring balance back to American Culture and take back in full what got stolen. We'll make this country a better place.
We could also with some hard work make a nice profit.
So, let’s make alternatives to the mainstream. Let’s make our own stuff in movies, video games, anime, and comics. Let's make our own videos, drawings, paintings and even pen and paper Role Playing Games. Let's embrace the great gift of the arts and get creative. Let’s build that parallel economy away from woke ideology and ESG.
This is something to consider for making this country the greatest in the world again. It may take some time but nothing worthwhile is easy, that’s a fact. But if we’re going to take back our culture we must start playing to win! Because it's the only thing we can do.
To those Republicans and Conservatives who have embraced the arts I salute you!
