December 9th, 2019 IG Report Finds 17 Significant Errors In FISA, Highly Critical Of FBI, AG Barr’s Statement

• Attorney General William Barr issued a statement shortly before the release of the report, saying the report “now makes clear that the FBI launched an intrusive investigation of a U.S. presidential campaign on the thinnest of suspicions that, in my view, were insufficient to justify the steps taken.”

• “These errors and omissions resulted from case agents providing wrong or incomplete information to Office of Intelligence and the National Security Division at the FBI (OI) and failing to flag important issues for discussion,”

• Horowitz concluded that the errors and other failures constitute “serious performance failures”

• The FISA warrant application featured claims from an unverified dossier

• The report also reveals that the FBI and Justice Department’s lawyers rejected an initial effort from FBI investigators to apply for FISA warrants against Page because they believed there was not probable cause to believe that he was a Russian agent.

• It said there was no evidence that Trump associates conspired with Russia, or that any served as Russian agents.

• Republicans have asserted the FBI misled FISA judges by relying on Steele’s unverified allegations about Page.

• IG's report recommendation. "For these reasons, we recommend that the FBI review the performance of the employees who had responsibility for the preparation, Woods review, or approval of the FISA applications, as well as the managers and supervisors in the chain of command of the Carter Page investigation, including senior officials, and take any action deemed appropriate. In addition, given the extensive compliance failures we identified in this review, we believe that additional OIG oversight work is required to assess the FBI's compliance with Department and FBI FISA-related policies that seek to protect the civil liberties of U.S. persons. Accordingly, we have today initiated an OIG audit that will further examine the FBI's compliance with the Woods Procedures in FISA applications that target U.S. persons" Source: IG's report on page XIV

Questions

Did some people at the FBI tried to first criminally entrap a presidential campaign? Then when that failed, did the FBI tried to entrap a duly elected President of the United States? A Coup? If so, are those weak ethic behaviors? Illegal behaviors? Equal justice under Law? Or are some people above the Law?

What is entrapment?

For those not familiar with "entrapment", it means a practice whereby a law enforcement agent induces a person to commit a criminal offence that the person would have otherwise been unlikely or unwilling to commit.[1] It "is the conception and planning of an offence by an officer, and his procurement of its commission by one who would not have perpetrated it except for the trickery, persuasion or fraud of the officer." What is a Coup?

For those not familiar with a "Coup", it means "overthrow of an existing government; typically, this refers to an illegal, unconstitutional seizure of power by a dictator, the military, or a political faction"

What Happens Next?

I look forward to reading the coming U.S. attorney John Durham's report about the CRIMINAL investigation of the CIA, DOJ, FBI, foreign spy agencies (intelligence agencies) activities, and others.

1. First, as you know this December 9th, 2019 IG Horowitz's report can make recommendation of criminal referrals.

2. Then, according to this IG's report above. An OIG audit will further examine the FBI's compliance with the Woods Procedures in FISA applications that target U.S. persons. I look forward to read their findings if any.

3. Next, optionally using both reports above plus any other appropriate reports, in the future the U.S. attorney Durham can subpoena witnesses, file charges, and impanel fact-finding grand juries.
Durham does not have to issue a report of any kind, by the opinions of many. He gathers evidence and is able to make  arrests.
