What do I use Minds for as a consumer?

To be entertained and informed.

Notice that I put "entertained" before "informed"?

I very rarely use Minds for news discovery. I don't allow anybody and/or any Website to aggregate and/or filter news I want to see. Including Minds. I want to be solely responsible for that and there are several Websites outside of Minds that I visit regularly for news. And I don't fully trust these sources either.

Minds has other information that I'm interested in: politics, music, photos, and memes.

Memes!

I enjoy memes as much as other people do. The best ones are concise and to the point. And they are graphical. People like pictures and graphics. Memes are easily digestible, i.e., they don't take up so much time. And they are very entertaining!

I am primarily a browser (latest version of Safari) user and very rarely use the Minds app. All of my Minds observations in this series are from my browser experience.
