As I mentioned in my previous blog, the most important and effective way of controlling your newsfeed is by controlling the Minds channels you subscribe to. I felt it important enough that it deserves its own blog.
I've heard complaints about Minds limiting subscriptions to 4000 recently. That's a helluva lot of subscriptions! I currently only have 130 subscriptions and I'm thinking of cutting it down even more.
Why? It takes me hours to get through my newsfeed with 130 subscriptions. It is an arduous and time consuming task. And I have more time than most Minds users. That is why I'm confident in saying and assuming that not many Minds users are like me who goes through the entire newsfeed daily (from the very last post I previous viewed.)
There are a lot of great Minds channels to subscribe to. Unfortunately, some of these Minds channels repeat their posts. I don't want their repeat posts cluttering my newsfeed so I don't subscribe to them. But I can see why they repeat their posts. It's due to the nature of Minds displaying the posts in reverse chronological order (latest posts first) and the lack of time on the part of most Minds users. You're lucky if Minds users see your post the first time it is posted.
Fortunately, the best posts by these Minds channels are reminded by other channels I subscribe to.
So, how do I determine which channels I subscribe to? I subscribe to channels with posts I am interested in. It doesn't mean that I agree with all the posts by these channels, but I have something in common with these channels. I admit the process is highly subjective and my interests may change any time.
Don't take it personally if I don't subscribe to you.
