I go through phases with meat. I have spent long stints of time as a vegan, becoming, almost, physically disgusted at the thought of eating meat and feeling anger when others do. I've also just eaten the meat and wondered what the big deal was about.
It's interesting to seem someone try meat for the first time, especially after 22 years. Sad, in a way, because I can see the addiction kicking it - "I'm going to eat meat until the day I die," she says.
Kind of like injecting an addictive drug; if you have eaten meat, you likely know the addictive power. It's full of nutrients and, introducing them to your body will certainly make your body crave more.
Really, the debate on meat is whether penning animals up for slaughter is ethical. Scientists are experimenting (and making huge advancements) in growing meat directly from stem cells and even producing meat that bleeds from vegetables. In these cases, no animals are harmed in the harvest.
Regardless of where you stand on the issue, the nutrients are there. Watch the rush this woman gets when she introduces it back into her diet. Oh, the bloodlust.
