GARRETT KARROTLEAVE A COMMENTON THE TRUTH ABOUT POSITIVITY
The Truth About Positivity:
Think positive, be positive, seek positive, and you will attract abundance in life.
Nowadays this seems to be the go to advice from light workers or spiritual people who are tying in elements of the Law of Attraction. Certainly the notion that if you just think good thoughts you will attract good things in your life sounds lovely. But rarely these spiritualists clarify what they mean by āpositiveā. Many times the audience erroneously comments or believes the popular notion that āpositiveā means āgoodā. That is why no matter zealously you think about owning a brand new car, getting a promotion at work, or bumping into the perfect spouse, nothing actually happens. The flaw does not lie in the Law of Attraction; it exists within your awareness.
So What Does āPositiveā Really Mean?
If you are really curious about the true meaning of anything, you always want to return back to its origin. Our ancestors associated what we call āpositiveā with masculine energy, which is outgoing, penetrative, active, and action-oriented. The masculine energy described a force that went out into the world and caused an effect. Quite simply this energy is the hand that does.
\If we analyze the masculine, or positive, signs of the Zodiac, namely Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius, we see that all of these signs are action-oriented, preferring to go out and do things in the world with little hesitation. Notice these are also the Fire and Air signs.
Conversely, think about the remaining signs: Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces. We refer to these signs as negative, or feminine, not as in ābadā or āundesirableā, but with the understanding that these feminine signs are receptive, patient, material, and stable. Notice how these are the Water and Earth signs.
Therefore, when people tell you to think āpositivelyā, what they are really saying is to think in terms of forward motion, of what you can do now in the present moment to accomplish your objectives. Thatās why making lists, daily affirmations, and rituals like this are so powerful. You are literally moving the energy around your life with pure intention; you are taking action. Such is magic!
On the other hand, someone who is depressed generally doesnāt believe they have the power to change anything around them. What do you think is their mode of thought? Are they thinking of what they can do, or are they thinking of how the world has treated them so far in life? This negative mindset is totally receptive and passive. It is accepting of oneās fate with an added feeling of powerlessness that is common with depression. The way to break this cycle is to get the depressed individual to start taking action and responsibility in his or her life. Thus, they begin adopting a positive, or action-oriented, mindset.
The Takeaway
The next time you read that you should practice positive thinking, positive this or positive that, donāt just think it means have āgoodā thoughts. Start planning actionable goals that get you to where you need to be. There is someone out there who is depending on your unique talents so get out there and start being positive!
