Interview with John Ozuna

John Ozuna, thank you for this interview. My readers might not know much about you.
Your career is impressive with Disney. Can you tell us a story on how you got your start in entertainment?  https://www.imdb.com/name/nm8745779/

Thank you for the opportunity to interview with you. I’ve always been interested in martial arts and acting equally. Especially how it was portrayed in movies that started Bruce Lee. When I first saw him back in 1973, I was hooked. I had my fist opportunity for acting when I won the Long Beach Internationals. I was approached by a TV producer to demonstrate my martial arts on. Local tv show. It just grew from that point on.

Do you have a story you wish everyone knew? Could you share it with us?

I’ll have to get back to you on this one…

Can you talk about any current movies being released?

Demon Fighter was just released the summer if this year. I play the principal role of Father Michael. He’s a  priest trying to do the right thing while being haunted by his past.

The Bouncer will be out later this year. I play the lead role of Frank Sharp. He runs away from his past trying to find a new life in Romania only to find himself in the same situation again.

I’m currently filming Drug Hunter. I play Razor a former military mercenary asked to return to help fight against drug lords.

What can you tell us about which project you had the most fun on and a story about that project?

I have so many it’s too difficult to choose just one. Each project is uniquely special.

Can you tell us who or what inspires you as an entertainer?

I do everything I can to best prepare for the first day of filming but I’m an avid learner. If I’m not directly on set I’m usually on the sidelines taking notes on how other actors prepare for or deliver their dialogue. I’m inspired by the talent around me and simply am a student of the arts and always want to improve my craft.

Who are some people in entertainment that you have worked with?

I’ve worked with so many talented people in front and behind the camera. Some of the more notable actors I’ve worked with are Keanu Reeves in Matrix 4. Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson in Venom 1&2, Don Johnson and Cheech Marin in Nash Bridges. Billy Bob Thornton in Goliath. This is just a short list off the top of my head.

What charity or charities do you belong to?

KO C.A.R.Es is a community outreach program that I started over 20 years ago. I teach all members of our communities how to be safe in this unpredictable world we now live in.

What advice would you give aspiring actors?

Never Give Up on your dreams! In this industry you’re going to hear many more “No’s” before hearing a “Yes.” Educate yourself in the arts, remain flexible and take the advice of those that have been there before. Always remember you Win, when you Lose if you Learn.

Dreams: what are your dreams? Meaning who or what project would you hope to work with or be a part of in the future?

I’m living my dreams! I’m humbled by the opportunities I’ve had thus far in the film industry and hope this will continue to flourish. I’ve worked with so many talented individuals. I learn, apply, work and repeat. I’m excited for the Future.

A final question. What question do you wish I had asked? And what would the answer be?

Not particularly…I’ve enjoyed our chat :-)
