Sarah Schultz was born in Dallas, Texas.  She moved to Arizona in 2007 and started acting in 2009 at the Zaki Gordon Institute in Sedona taking small film roles in film student's movies. Sarah became heavily involved in the Horror scene in 2016 entering the Miss Scarizona pageant at Mad Monster Arizona. There she knew she found a home. Not only in the horror industry, but the convention itself. She has made a wave in the independent Horror film and cosplay industry over the last few years. She has worked with stars such as Growing Pains star Alan Thicke (Love's Last Resort)  and Rob Zombie's Halloween own Laurie Strode Scout Taylor Compton. (Sacrificial witch photo shoot). Sarah is better known as "Jessica Stabbit", who won Miss Scarizona at the Horror Convention Mad Monster in 2017. Her and her actor/director/photographer/musician husband were married by the legendary Sid Haig at Mad Monster that same weekend she was crowned. 1. Sarah Schultz, as a filmmaker with a fascinating background in the horror industry and numerous exciting projects, could you provide an overview of your upcoming project Dylan's New Nightmare: An Elm Street Fan Film, giving us a glimpse of its storyline, the platform where it will be available, and when we can expect to see it?
Thank you for interviewing me! Dylan's New Nightmare can now be seen on The Horror Channel's YouTube channel. DNN is directed by Cecil Laird, and the movie stars Miko Hughes reprising his role as Dylan Porter from Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Freddy comes back with revenge on his mind, and Dylan is in the eye of the storm. The cast and crew were absolutely remarkable. My role is the nurse on the phone at Burbank Psychiatric Hospital opposite Miko Hughes. The film premiered at Mad Monster Arizona's Horror convention this year. We had a great turnout!

2. Amityville Hex sounds intriguing. Could you delve deeper into the storyline, the platform where viewers can anticipate watching it, and its scheduled release date, considering your unique experiences in the horror genre?

You can purchase Amityville Hex on Amazon. The film is available to watch on Youtube, Tubi, and Vudu. This is another film by Tony Newton we shot in isolation. A curse takes over and takes lives one by one. It's a simple chant that doesn't end well for the person saying it. Josh and I  had the opportunity to work with Lloyd Kaufman on this film. He's such a joy.

3. Sarah, please walk through each of your films and provide an insight or fun fact about them. Pick two that you would like to discuss
: Dark Web: Mystery Box (2020): Sarah Schultz and her husband, Josh Schultz, filmed Mort House Films' first official movie, "Dark Web: Mystery Box" in isolation in 2020. This film is a significant part of her filmography.
The amazing director and writer, Tony Newton, based out of the U.K., contacted Josh and myself after watching one of our true crime unboxing videos on YouTube. He asked if we could play ourselves in a film he was writing during the rise of Covid-19. During that time, actors and filmmakers didn't want to stop working, but the pandemic put a damper on that. Luckily, we were able to film at home and send our scenes to Tony who stitched them together and created a fun and interesting film. He asked Josh if our film company, Mort House Films, could adopt the movie, making Josh a director of the movie as well. Considering he did direct our scenes at home, it was fitting.
   1. Bloodbath on 4th Ave (2018): "Bloodbath on 4th Ave" was released on July 4, 2020, and is the second film released by Mort House Films. This is another prominent work in her portfolio.
   2. The Assent (2019): Sarah provided a voiceover in Pearry Teo's film "The Assent" in 2019. While her role might have been smaller, it still adds to her experience in the industry.
Rest in peace Pearry. He was a kind soul, and a great filmmaker. His mind was always full of ideas and he would make dreams a reality! Josh and Pearry became great friends, from attending Shockfest in Las Vegas to see The Assent play for some greats in the film industry, to discussing a podcast for the future. He cast Josh and his voice  in The Assent. I was asked by Pearry if I could fill the role of the woman on the radio. You can hear me expressing my rather judgemental opinion on the radio as the priest is being released from jail.
   3. Queen Malvolia's Halloween Special (2019): Sarah Schultz was featured in this horror hostess special in 2019, showcasing her involvement in the horror scene.
   4. Stasis (2017): Sarah had a role as a rebel in Netflix's "Stasis" in 2017, contributing to her acting career.

4. Given your involvement in horror films, what projects are you hoping for in the near future?

Josh started writing a Texas Chainsaw Massacre fan film script several years ago that I would love to see take off. It's not your average script, it's something more. Josh has a very creative brain and those wheels are always turning. We also would love to put together my photos with Scout Compton and create a coffee table book if you will. We also have a script written by California based director Eric Lawson that we need to get off the ground. It's an amazing script and definitely is my dream project.

5. Sarah Schultz, your journey in the horror industry is truly remarkable. Is there a particular personal or professional story you'd like to share that you feel is essential for everyone to know about you, given your experiences as both an actor and a filmmaker?

Thank you so much. I have worked and met some of the most kind hearted gentle souls since entering the horror industry. I am so blessed. I may not be a huge star like Kate Winslet, but I feel like I have accomplished a lot. I am always adding onto my IMDb whether it be podcast appearances or movies. There are times I feel like what I do isn't enough, but then I think back to when I started Excel Models and Talent, and I never thought I'd get so far as to doing as many films as I have or even being in any magazines.

6. You and your husband, Josh Schultz, have been deeply involved in various creative ventures. Could you tell us about the charity or cause that holds significance for you both, and how it ties into your creative pursuits and endeavors?

We have! It's been a great adventure and I can't wait to see what else the future holds. We participate in many charities and food causes. We love the benefit for Mulligan's Manor that our friend Danni Winn holds each year at The Majestic cinema in Tempe. Mulligan's Manor is a safe home for kids in the LGBTQ community. We also have written short stories for Red Cape Publishing that supports various charities, such as Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics. I do support Peta and their efforts to protect animals everywhere. Any cause that helps to protect animals is a yes for me.

7. In the realm of filmmaking, considering your background, what is your ultimate dream project? Who would you like to collaborate with, and can you give us a glimpse of what the film would be about?

I would love to portray a female serial killer, like a female American Psycho role. Hell, we may even have something like that under our sleeves. I would love to collaborate with my friends Jennifer Banko or David Howard Thornton on a project.

8. Is there a question you wish I had asked you during this interview, given your diverse experiences and interests? If so, what's the question, and what would your answer be?

What is my all time favorite movie? It has to be James Cameron's Titanic.

9. As a filmmaker, you've overcome various challenges to reach where you are today. Could you share some of the most significant obstacles you've encountered in your career and how you managed to overcome them?

Working in the industry can be quite challenging. You see, it can bring out either to best or worst in people. I have started to become more observant of my surroundings. I didn't have to climb any mountains to get where I am today luckily. I have had great experiences onset.

10. Your creative journey is undoubtedly multifaceted. Can you provide insights into your creative process when developing new film projects? What inspires you, and how do you and your husband bring your ideas to life on the screen, considering your unique blend of horror, music, and true crime interests?

Thank you. My husband is definitely the brains behind alot of what we do. We enjoy the dark and spooky. Things that people would typically be disgusted by, such as true crime, fascinates us. We like to mix it up and not stick to one subject. Such as our website Gravedirt Clothing, it targets people who enjoy slasher films and have a dark sense of humor. Directors such as Rob Zombie and Tobe Hooper are influences in our lives. We love all film, but horror is our home.
