https://www.minds.com/newsfeed/1228330450382381056 Can you please tell the story of how you got into songwriting and where you are currently at?
It all started when I learned that I had a ear for music at the tender age of 9. I used to play along to the radio on my toy Casio keyboard which my parents bought me for Xmas. I learned very fast and took to the keys like a duck to water. I began singing at school back in Wales where I was born. I was part of Several touring choirs and began classical training in vocals and piano. I studied Performing Arts and Music at college and found myself in a band at the age of 15 playing the nightclub circuit throughout Wales and West England. We played covers mainly such as The Beatles, Abba, Carpenters and Elton John. At college I began composing music for orchestras and musicals. This is where my love for composition and songwriting began back in 1995.
Ms. Delacroix, you are singing. Can you talk about what you are doing and share any trailors or teasers for my readers? https://www.youtube.com/c/ZsaZsaDelacroix
I have my debut Jazz album called ‘Nuance In Bloom’ released on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon Music on May 31st 2021. Jazz is one of my favourite genres to write in as it gives you a lot of freedom to express yourself vocally on the piano. It is a 12 track uptempo Jazz album. I was influence by the pioneers in Jazz from the 1940’s and 1950’s like Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck & Charlie Parker and of course Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald are inspirations for this album too. I’m also currently in the studio finishing my second album which is a rock album and will be released later this summer also.
Ms. Delacroix, you are a singer, model etc. What part of the business do you like the most?
I love sharing my music with the world and I shall most definitely look forward to live performances again after the coronavirus has left. It’s been a tough year for musicians but things are looking bright for 2022. Live performing to crowds is the most rewarding experience as a musician I think.
Ms. Delacroix, please tell my reader about each of your songs and provide links to them, please.
One of my favourite tracks on the new album is a track called ‘Post Party Penthouse’ it’s pretty much an instrumental uptempo piano jazz track with a flute accompaniment. I remember getting very immersed in recording that song. I think listeners will find themselves
Tapping their feet to that one. The album can be pre-ordered on iTunes here:http://itunes.apple.com/album/id1561925663?ls=1&app=itunes
Ms. Delacroix, what genre of songs are you into or would you say you want to be a part of?
I am very eclectic. I was classically trained but not I enjoy composing all kinds of music. Rock and Jazz are my main passions. I love folk, dance and also pop music too. I think it’s important to be diversified as a songwriter.
Can you talk about what you are doing and share any trailors or teasers for my readers?
Yes my YouTube channel has a lot of my music videos which range in styles. One of my favourite music videos is ‘Delectable Lady’ which I wrote in 2019. It’s a rock number where I play guitar. Guitar is my second instrument. Piano being my first. My YouTube channel is https://www.youtube.com/c/ZsaZsaDelacroix I am also currently working on my official website www.ZsaZsaDelacroix.com which will launch this summer. I will promote my music and merchandise through this site.
Ms. Delacroix, what is your dream project? With whom do you want to work with?
I would love to work with Elton John, Lady Gaga or Tori Amos. Those are my 3 biggest inspirations. I think we could make great music together.
Ms. Delacroix, during this time of lockdown these interviews are to help people find new books, movies, etc to look into. What has been your entertainment or what books/movies would you suggest?
I’m currently reading Elton John’s autobiography. He had such a crazy life but he is very inspiring and successful and probably one of the most respected and famous rockstars in the world today. I also enjoy reading books on economics. I love to learn how the world works.
Ms. Delacroix, the classic question: what charity do you support? Can you provide a link to it and explain your reason for supporting that charity?
Two charities closest to my heart are the British Heart Foundation and Dementia U.K. my grandmother had dementia and my mother has cardiomyopathy so I like to support these causes when I can.
Ms. Delacroix, can you tell us that one story you wish everyone knew about yourself? You know the one that if you had to introduce yourself to people that story?
I always like to talk to about my cats with new people. I love cats! And if I find a new person I meet who loves cats too, the conversation will be dominated by talk about cats and the many stories I have about mine. My cat Portia loves to sing along to my piano playing. She is very comical and loves performing. I shall have to make a video to show people this haha!
