Kyukyodo Incense Stick Review

Kyukyodo is a very traditional incense company from Japan. This particular incense sampler was purchased from Japan Incense. The assortment has some very interesting fragrances including Circle, Wind, Clouds, Wave, Woodland, and Bloom.

Some of these incense sticks contain some interesting ingredients.

Circle is a kyara agarwood blend. Very dark and deep musky scent. Awesome incense, but the price is quite high.

Winds actually sort of smells like the wind, but with an agarwood base. It's actually very hard to describe. This is definitely a bitter Vietnamese agarwood.

Clouds is another agarwood blend. A bit milder then Winds, but very enjoyable. A little light, fragrance-wise.

Wave was very interesting. Some people say that this contains ambergris but I am not so certain. It does however have an oceanic sort of smell. This one in particular smells very different from the rest. Definitely take some time to 'listen' to this incense.

Woodland is a woodsy agarwood blend. Not sure what other ingredients they added here. Possibly oak moss or something of a similar nature.

Bloom is a sandalwood blend and I simply thought it was good. Not great, but not bad at all. This is one of the cheaper offerings in this sample pack, due to it not containing any agarwood.

These incense sticks are all rather pricey but they do show the finer qualities Japanese incense can provide.
