My art making is directly attuned to nature: Small assemblages and arrangements created from stones, shells and crystals, flowers, seeds and grasses combined with other natural materials that I find in the local bushland or surrounding urban streets.
'I love the ‘contemplative’ nature of the Japanese Zen sand/rock gardens as well as the ‘mystical’ nature of ancient sacred circles. The influence of both have been in my drawings, sculpture and now ephemeral art.' ~Ally.
During the creation of my pieces, thoughts of anything else are silenced as individual pieces of nature greet, merge, compliment and/or contrast with each other.
My hope is that the photographs and digital reproductions of my ephemeral art pieces can ‘shine a light’ on the often overshadowed exquisite beauty of our natural world.
