A study from April 5, 2014 to August 5, 2014 enabled physicists from Berkeley Earth to ascertain that over 4,000 people die from pollution in China every day and that about 17 percent of all deaths in China are from heart and lung disease and other problems caused by polluted air.

The problem does not stop in China, as it is believed that 7 million people die every year from illness related to breathing polluted air, but the problem in China is most notable.  In the eastern half of China, for instance, 99.9% of the people breath more pollution than anyone in Madera, California, where the highest annual average small particulate haze in the U.S. is found.

The tiny particulates that are causing the damage are derived, mostly, from electric power plants, industrial facilities, automobiles, biomass burning, and fossil fuels used for heating.  An estimated 1.4 million people die each year as a result of disease caused by breathing these particulates.  The diseases range from asthma and heart disease to stroke and other cardiovascular issues.

The solution is within our hands, but we need to see what is happening.   Because it does not cause an immediate danger, like a burning house, the human tendency to ignore it has gone on for too long.
