Calling all bloggers!
We are looking for the next, great content creator and you may be the one. Until 6/20/16, we will be accepting blog submissions and paying you $10 for each blog of yours that we select.
To submit a blog, join the Alternative World News Network group, which can be found here, and post your submission there with the @AWNNET tag. All blogs will be considered but some will have a greater chance of making the cut.
In order to write a hit blog, there are a few things to take into consideration.
Make sure there is enough information. Usually, you are able to hit at least three major points about the topic you are writing on, with a length of at least 400 words.
Add rich media. Adding at least one high-res image and one video to your blog is a great way to pack in the info and entertainment. People are much more likely to share your blog when their senses are being stimulated by enhancing color and sound. The videos can be embedded from Minds, YouTube and Vimeo and images can be embedded by copying their source code from anywhere on the net.
Create a great title. Your title explains exactly what the blog is about without giving away too much information. Keep it concise and to a couple short sentences (or one long one) at maximum.
Upload a hi-resolution banner. This is an important part of getting people to click on your blog. When the blog preview shows up in feeds across the world it will be this, accompanied by the title. Make sure the banner displays something about the title and choose an image that does not violate terms of service across family-friendly social networks. At the end of your blog, make sure to credit a link to the source of the banner.
In addition to image links, each blog must contain a minimum 3 sources. These sources are web pages that you compiled information from. If you find that you don’t have enough sources, try searching the internet for more information on the topic and using those sources. Apply these sources in the body of your blog as hyperlinks on associated words or phrases.
We recommend choosing a topic suggested by a site admin. These topics are more likely to be chosen as selected blogs. You may write on your own topic and it may still be accepted. Suggested topics can be found at this link. Available and suggested topics may change as people write about them, so make sure to keep an eye on the topics that are needed.
All blogs must be listed Creative Commons (either Attribution CC BY or Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike CC BY-NC-SA) to be eligible for submission.
Make sure to adhere to strict plagiarism and copyright law. If your blog violates either of these it will not be considered for submission.
No submissions are guaranteed to be selected.
All submissions are subject to editorial changes, including edits to spelling, grammar, titles and content.
All domestic, US payments will be made, via Boost Pro, after the submission deadline of 6/20/2016. International accounts will be paid via Paypal, in which case you will be asked to supply us with your Paypal account details.
We look forward to seeing what you have!
