22-year-old Muslim journalist poses for Playboy in a hijab

Playboy has changed, quite a bit, in modern times.  Their most recent example is the feature of Muslim journalist, Noor Tagouri, fully clothed in a leather jacked, sneakers and hijab.

Tagouri is a 22 and is a voice for many modern Muslim women.

Based in the United States, she currently works for Newsy, an online news organization.

The Playboy feature writer said:

"As a badass activist with a passion for demanding change and asking the right questions, accompanied by beauty-ad-campaign looks, Tagouri forces us to ask ourselves why we have such a hard time wrapping our minds around a young woman who consciously covers her head and won’t take no for an answer."

Not everyone is onboard.  A fellow female hijab-wearing journalist for the Independent wrote:

"Do we really need to go down the route of associating with an institution based on the objectification of women in the name of challenging perceptions and celebrating female empowerment?"

Still, Noor contends her ambition, working for ABC as the "first hijab wearing news anchor on American television.”

Her huge group of followers support her move, crowning the hashtag #LetNoorShine.
