After One Week With MINDS

I joined MINDS to find a social media without censorship. One that supports freedom of speech and expression. Overall, I have been very happy to join MINDS and I have committed to learning to use it effectively.

I realize MINDS is still in Beta and that it is still evolving. The one thing that has frustrated me is the dearth of user documentation. I haven't found a good or comprehensive one. Maybe I just haven't been looking in the right place. If someone can point me to one, I would appreciate it. I'm looking for user documentation which describes the features of MINDS, what they are intended to be used for, and how to use them.

Meanwhile, I'm learning from observing how others are using MINDS. And from trial and error. For example, I just learned that keyboard shortcuts can be used when writing blogs, i.e., bold, underlined, italics, etc.

This is my second blog. My first blog is something I wrote on a lazy, rainy Saturday (much like today) starting with a list of Led Zeppelin song titles (I'm a big fan of their music): Friends - From Poor Tom. It's great that blogs automatically show up on the profile page.

Since joining MINDS, I have joined 8 and created 4 groups:

It would be great if groups are also automatically added to the profile page (enhancement). Since they are not, I have added links to my groups in the bio section as others have done. BTW, the contents of the bio do not show up on my iPad Pro Safari browser (bug).

I have posted in 3 of the groups I have joined, but I have found out that I have to set a reminder for my posts to show up in my profile. My posts in groups should automatically show up in my profile (enhancement). Or is there a way to currently do this? I tried mentioning myself, but this did not work. BTW, all photos I post are my own photos.

I have 17 subscriptions to date and I'm sure that will grow as I explore MINDS. There are very interesting individuals, channels, and groups. I still have a lot of unaswered questions about channels.

I have only tried boost once (500 views) on one of my groups to see what it does. It gained one new member. I will experiment more with this feature as I gain more points.

Entering a status automatically appears in your profile page. This is good. I would like the capability to categorize what I posts (enhancement). This way one can organize posts into different categories.

I am very pleased with my experience with MINDS. Thank you all for providing this alternative social media. I am looking forward to increasing number of members in the future. I will defintely recommend MINDS to my family, friends, and others.

Thank you!
