No. This article is not about stealing, superchargers, turbochargers, or even rockets.

This article is about using the MINDS Boost feature. It is not about how to earn points for boosting. I took the easy way out in earning points by supporting MINDS. I used those points earned to learn what boosting is all about. I am sharing with you what I've learned in a very short amount of time.

You can Boost your Channel, Blogs, Groups, and Posts. 1 point is equal to 1 view and $1 buys you 1,000 points. The maximum is 5,000 points and I've read that the minimum is 300 points for boosting. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Boosting simply means promoting and drawing attention to your channel, blog, group, or post. Some people have a misconception on how boosting works.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

This is also true in MINDS. Boosting means that your channel, blog, group, or post will be promoted, i.e., presented to other users as boosted content. They still have to decide whether to view it or not. It does not guarantee that you will get the number of views you boosted your content for. Hopefully, it will increase readership of your content.

Content is still king.

Others will view your content only if they are interested in it. It is entirely up to you to make your content interesting to others. Everyone has different interests, so don't set yourself up for disappointment with unrealistic expectations.

Does Boosting work?

Yes and no. I have experimented boosting my channel, blogs, groups, and posts. And boosting appears to have helped somewhat. It is more effective to boost your channel and groups instead of blogs and posts. Others will find your blogs and posts when they view your channel.

I think the secret to promoting your content is to post in groups with a large number of subscribers and having others remind your posts. But remember that your content still has to be interesting.

Will I continue to Boost?

Of course because I plan on supporting MINDS. What am I going to do with all those points?
