MINDS User Guide for the Browser: Home
The MINDS Home page accessed by the "Home" icon in the Left Navigation Bar:
The Home page is where boosted content, your channel posts, and posts from other channels you've subscribed to and groups you've joined are displayed as a newsfeed. See "Interacting with Other People's Posts" for more information.
At the very top of the newsfeed is a dialog box for posting to your channel.
See "Posting" for more information on how to post.
The next control you will encounter in your newfeed is probably the most controversial, misunderstood, and user "surly" (versus friendly) interface in MINDS. I don't know what to call it.
Right below this "boost control" is a boosted content which is replaced by another boosted content after a certain amount of time. The appropriate bar in the "boost control" is highlighted to inform you the relative position of the boosted content displayed is with regards to all of the boosted contents.
You can, mercifully, stop this cycling of boosted content by switching the toggle on the very right of this "boost control." If desired, you can also click on a bar to see the correponding boosted content, or the less than (<) or greater than (>) symbols to scroll the bars representing the boosted content. Whew! Enough of the "boost control."
Boosted content are marked with the above.
At the top of the column immediately to the right of the newsfeed is your channel info.
Your avatar, channel name (Display Name), and MINDS username (starts with the @ symbol) are displayed here. Clicking here will display your channel.
The number of your channel subscribers is also displayed here. Clicking on this will display the Subscribers page.
The number of your channel subscriptions is also displayed here. Clicking on this will display the Subscriptions page.
The number of your channel views is also displayed here. Clicking on this will display your channel.
Right below your channel info are colorful buttons which will display the Points page, Monetize page, Search page, Invitation page, and the Boost Console.
Please support MINDS by buying points!
This is a relatively new and welcomed addition to the Home page. It shows the type of posts which are currently popular in MINDS. Adding hashtags to your posts and blogs is very important.
Your channel view for today and the past 4 days are also displayed on the Home page.
Below this are more boosted content.
