MINDS User Guide for the Browser: Interacting with Other People's Posts

The whole point about Social Media is to interact with other people! This blog will show you how to interact with other people's posts in MINDS.

Poster

Which channel did the post originate from? Hover your cursor over the avatar of the poster and you will get more information about the channel: the channel name (Display Name), username (starts with @ symbol), whether you are subscribed to the channel, the number of subscribers to the channel, the number of subscriptions for the channel, and the number of views for the channel.

If you are already subsribed to the channel:

If you are not subscribed to the channel:

Click on "Subscribe" to subscribe to the channel, "Subscribers" to display the subscribers to the channel, "Subscriptions" to view the channels subscribed to, and "Views" or anywhere else on the channel info box to display the channel newsfeed. This is a great way to discover more content and channels to subscribe to. I don't think enough MINDS users do this.

Content

If the post links to a blog, image, video, or another page, click on it to view.

Vote Up or Down

If you like the post, please "up" vote it. The number of "up votes" is displayed next to the icon.

If you feel strongly against the post, go ahead and "down" vote the post.

Comment(s)

If you want to view the comment(s) and.or add your own comment, click on the "Comment" icon.

The comment dialog box will be displayed with any comments and a field to enter your comment(s).

Reminder

If you really like the post and include it in your channel newsfeed, set a reminder.

The reminder dialog will be displayed to allow you to add your own text to your reminder.

Translation

Did you know that MINDS can translate for you if the post is in a different language than yours? Click on the "Translate" icon.

The translation dialog box will be displayed.

You can hide the translation and change the language. Cool!

Other Options

You also have other options by clicking on the "Dropdown" icon.

Your other options will be displayed in a dropdown menu.
