MINDS User Guide for the Browser: Messenger

Messenger is the "chat" system in MINDS. It can be accessed by clicking on the MESSENGER icon at the bottom right of your screen.

If you are not logged-in to Messenger, you must login with your MINDS password unless you have changed it for Messenger. A list of channels you're subscribed to and subscribed to your channel will be displayed. A blue dot next to the channel name indicates that channel is currently logged-in to MINDS.

To chat with a channel, click on the channel name and a new small window will open.

The emoticon icon will open another small window which will allow you to select emoticon(s) to insert in your message. Be sure to send the message by clicking on the ">" (send) symbol.

You can close the Messenger window(s) or leave them open while waiting for a response. When a response or a new message is sent to your channel, it will be displayed.

The Messenger "Gear" icon is for LOGOUT (of Messenger), MUTE (Messenger notifications), and RE-KEY (change Messenger password.)
