Protecting Islam rather than the victims of Islam

The Islamic State - ISIS - based its entire existence on living up entirely to the principles of Islam as defined by the Quran and the core Hadiths (Bukhari, Muslim...), i.e. the core texts of Islam.
So everything they did followed Mohammed's words and example.

As Mohammed was a war lord, conquest and loot were extremely important, to him. His favorite loot were young, even very young women. He always ensured that the most beautiful girls were brought to him. He then gave some of them to his closest companions, but kept the girl he liked the most to himself, enslave and rape her.

So his followers still think that taking sex slaves, raping them and getting them pregnant is "ok", because their sect leader told them so.

Here are the references to the relevant verses:

This is the kind of fact that is obviously embarrassing, to Muslims, they do not want to see these facts to be exposed to non-Muslims. They will lie and pretend that people who talk about it are "liars", except that anyone can look up the quoted verses on Quran.com, but very few people actually do.

So to Muslims, it's extremely threatening when a person with credibility - even from a Muslim majority country (Muslim or not) - starts exposing the truth. This is why they could not tolerate the idea of Nadia Murad speaking to a young audience. She is a former ISIS sex slave who managed to escape and was honored with a Nobel Prize for fighting against sex slavery, as she would unquestionably have brought to light the Islamic believes about slavery and rape. And for some reason, they have enough influence to get the government to do whatever they want - in this case to cancel Nadia Murad:

This is Tarek Fatah's comment on this absolute outrage:

This is an unbelievable disgrace for the entire western civilization!
