📝 Now I want to present you with an interesting application, which has basic idea can be traced back 21 years ago.
ℹ️ Let’s see the original source of the application based on historical roots
Originally in 2000, the capital letter „N” was visible everywhere in the name of this software product and it was known as „EverNote”. Russian-American software development entrepreneur Stepan Pachikov founded a company called EverNote that year. The referenced capital letter N from the application and company name disappeared in 2008, starting with version 3.0 of the software.
As an introduction, I would also like to point out that in July 2011, Evernote already had a user base of more than 11 million. My definiately opinion is, that this is an excellent performance by the company.
What is the conception of Evernote company?
As I’ve noticed with Evernote apps, they like to appear on all existing platforms and electronic devices, like PCs, tablets, mobiles. Simply put, the app is designed to capture everything, anywhere, anytime when it is important for you.
Main features
- You can set reminders according to your specified date and time.
- You can use tags instead of categories, but you know, the effect is total same, thanks to useable sub tags. I just wanna remind you about this topic, that this tag organizing only available on desktop versions :( It's strange for me, because I'm pretty sure the users' online time is more on mobile devices than front of PC. The point is you have to create your topic categories for your various notes on a PC, which you can then conveniently use with a mobile.
- You can save important data for you in 6 different ways.
- As you can see in the header image associated with this article, you can download the app either from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
- You can create enrypted text, so your sensitive information will be protected! If you use this option, please don't forget if you do lost your keyphrase nobody can help to you. But that case doesn't need any further explains, for a crypto-loving community, where the importance of private keys is known ;)
Supported platforms
Evernote clients software are available for Android, BlackBerry (including BlackBerry Playbook), Google Wave, iOS (iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch), macOS, Maemo, Microsoft Windows, Windows Mobile, Windows Phone, and WebOS platforms as well as a beta for Symbian S60 5th Edition. Additionally, portable versions of Evernote are available for flash drives and U3 drives. There is currently no officially supported native client for BSD or Linux, but the company provides an API for external Linux clients solution providings. What are the 6 ways you can manage your notes?
- Creating reminders, though I’ve already mentioned that
- Simple text notes. However, one of the great advantages of the application is that when you do copy from the clipboard using the standard Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V methods, it adopts the original style and formatting of the text very well. And indeed, I really like this feature and I think you will like it too :)
- You can also categorize video and photos. But don’t forget that it eats up quite a bit of storage space and you can quickly exceed the limits of the free package!
- I don’t think the handwriting option needs to be over-explained. For example, many tablets have electronic pencils.
- Attachment : it's cool because you can import any documents from your machines or any other cloud services such as Google Drive.
- Audio option : if you little bit lazy for typing, you can use your own voice. Unfortunately there is not any sound recognation behind of this option, so it does mean only an audio recording nothing more. So your voice can't be save as text.

- Let’s not forget the importance of content development. What do you need for all this? Valuable ideas, inspirations that can be born in moments. But these inspirations can fall out of our heads from one moment to the next! Well, you see, that's why this application is very important to me :)
- Although man proposes, God disposes, but I think if we do not record our plans, will be forgotten :)
What you need pay attention if you decide to use the free of charge version?
In the free of charge version, only 2 devices can be synced! Sometimes, however, for some reason, we log in to our account through the Evernote website. Well, this web browser access is perceived by Evernote as giving permission to a third tool and telling us to either upgrade our account or exit the app. If this occurs, it must be remedied by revoking the web access permission in the Devices menu via your browser. Understandable, simple math, because then there are 2 tools stay, which makes it no longer screaming :)
