just brought this New Williams treadle home. made in Montreal in the late 1880's. don't know much about it as this is my first New Williams sewing machine. the spool of thread in it is at least 80 years old. the cabinet is a 5-drawer in beautiful shape. this machine was well -loved as it will be again.

Kenmore

i don't imagine they made this for very long. i got it in the house and started playing with it and realized it is a bloody nightmare to operate. if you shift gears on it out of sequence, it totally jams up and you have to take it apart to reset it. on the plus side, the cabinet has hide away drawers under the left side and it has that little table on the right which most machines do not have.

treadle belts

treadle parking

i keep some of the treadles in the front room. uh huh. there is more in there that didn't make it into the shot. that is a Willcox and Gibbs parked on top of the Singer 5-drawer (it is a treadle also). left to right - Singer 7-drawer, Singer 3-drawer Coffin Top, Singer 5-drawer, White treadle and the end of one of my 29K's.

tackle box

time for a new tackle box ... one of those big dual-sided ones. i have been looking for a paramedics equipment box (basically a large tackle box). this one is jam-packed with sewing accessories to the point where i cannot close the lid.
