Today we're taking off the covers of Supermind, a new monetization feature available to everyone on Minds.
We've seen a pattern in social media, both on Minds and elsewhere: On one hand, you've got "creator" accounts that produce entertainment, commentary, and news for a lot of people… but often still struggle to monetize and earn a living doing what's clearly valuable. On the other hand, you've got "fans" that follow these creators, engage with them, and want to support them… but end up with a one-way relationship. Creators receive hundreds or even thousands of notifications every day and simply don’t have the time to reply to everyone.
(We're using the terms "creators" and "fans" loosely – on Minds, we believe everyone who posts is a creator, and that creators are fans of each other.)
This mismatch is why we built Supermind.
Supermind enables creators and fans to turn that one-way relationship into a two-way collab. Fans create Supermind offers, which are questions or prompts with a monetary incentive (cash or MINDS tokens). Creators receive these offers and can choose which to accept. In order to accept an offer, the creator just has to do what they're already doing on social media: Reply in the form of simple, engaging content for their audiences.
Fans get replies, and creators make money doing what they already do.
Use Supermind to...
We're excited to see how people use Supermind, both as fans and as creators. And you can try it out now. Look for the Supermind button on activity posts and channels to ask questions and get replies. And let your subscribers know what types of questions you'd like to answer with Supermind.
If you have any feedback or ideas, share a post with the hashtag #betterminds. Supermind is still in beta so there may be some roughness around the edges. We'll continue improving the experience, and meanwhile we're on the lookout for new ways we can make Supermind a better tool for getting fans replies, and getting creators rewarded.
