ZERO CARBON PROJECT - SET TO ADD FORCE TO THE FIGHT AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING USING BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY AND ZERO CARBON ENERGY CONSUMER REWARD SYSTEM

It is no longer news that the earth is getting warmer by day and the effect of the global warming is already being manifested or experienced at some regions which made the world to join hands in introducing regulations and technologies aimed at bringing the global temperature change under control. But is the effort of the current renewable energy technology and service providers impactful enough? Read on.

Human activities on earth are actually the major cause of the increasing climatic change in the world. Such activities as the burning of fossil fuels (eg. Petroleum, crude oil, coal, etc), agricultural activities (eg. use of Nitrogenous fertilizers), deforestation, and other activities like industrialization and urbanization.

These human activities enormously increase the volume of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere thereby causing greenhouse effect and global warming. These greenhouse gases include Carbon dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide, and Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). Although some of these gases occur or exist naturally in the atmosphere, human activities tend to increase their concentration in the atmosphere with CO2 leading the pack. Researchers revealed that CO2 is most commonly produced by man and his activities and it is responsible for about 64% of the global warming caused by man.

This could explain why most of the global warming solution effort is geared toward reducing the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.

Evidence of global warming and climatic change

Some pieces of evidence and occurrences which support or confirm the fact that there is a rapid global climate change include:

• The rise in the global temperature

• Ocean bodies are getting warmer

• Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets are already shrinking

• The retreat of Glaciers in Africa, Alaska, Alps, Himalayas, etc.

• The snow cover in the Northern Hemisphere is decreasing

• The decreasing Arctic sea ice

• The global sea level is rising

• Other extreme events.

Current global warming solution and the impact level.

In order to address this global challenge, a lot of efforts have been put into renewable energy solutions which include the introduction of solar energy systems, windmills, biofuels, etc.

The Renewable energy systems and technologies have responded well to the fight against the global warming and climatic change but the impact on carbon emission reduction or control is still very low.

This is because, the current application of carbon-free energy system is very expensive thereby giving consumers, who are struggling to survive in this highly competitive environment, no other option than to continue using fossil fuels.

Introduction of a better zero carbon solution

In other to win this carbon emission battle, there is a need to make renewable energy option more affordable and even cheaper than fossil fuels. The moment renewable and Zero carbon solution become cheaper than fossil fuels, people will abandon the use of fossil fuel and massively adopt the cheaper and cleaner solution which will impact positively on the environment.

ZERO CARBON Project is a startup project and a product of Zero Carbon Pty Ltd. aimed at offering consumers a far cheaper zero carbon energy solution. The project will not only provide consumers with cheaper options to select from but will also reward them for their participation thereby encouraging them for making the decision of adopting a zero carbon energy service.

The project will run on blockchain technology which will ensure a secure, easily accessible and transparent operation.

Energis (NGR) token will be used to fuel the Zero Carbon project platform. The consumers will be paid with the token which is ERC20 compatible and can be traded or exchanged for digital or fiat currency.

Zero Carbon project is the first project I have seen trying to proffer solution to an issue that concerns the survival of earth and existence of mankind.
