How to setup your wallet with MetaMask

Greetings Minds,

This blog will take you through a step by step process to get setup with MetaMask, which is the wallet that Minds recommends using for the easiest experience. 

Please keep in mind that MetaMask is for BROWSERS ONLY and does not work with mobile yet. In addition, it is only compatible with the following browsers: Brave, Firefox, Chrome, Opera. 

Step 1 - Click on your wallet (bank icon) in the top right of your screen.

Step 2 - Enter your mobile number and verification code if you have not already (don't worry, Minds does not store this information, it is just used to prove your channel is unique and prevent fraud).

Step 3 - Go to the "Add" tab in your wallet menu, read the first onboarding screen and click "Next".

Step 4 - Select the option that says "Use MetaMask" or "Download MetaMask"

Step 5 - On the MetaMask website, select the browser you are using to download the browser extension.

Step 6 - After selecting the browser, follow the instructions to add-on the MetaMask extension.

Step 7 - You should now see the MetaMask extension in the top right corner of your web browser. Click the logo and follow the onboarding steps to read their terms, create a password and download your seed phrase (DO NOT FORGET THESE).

Step 8 - Now that your MetaMask wallet is setup, REFRESH your browser. After you refresh, click "Next" on the onboarding screen, and then select "Use MetaMask".

Step 9 - Nice job! Now Minds is able to detect your MetaMask address. Click "Complete" on the final onboarding screen. Then give your browser one last refresh to make sure everything sticks in place.
