The YouTube migrator is alive!
Amid ever-growing uncertainty around content and monetization policies on major social networks, it is critical for creators to protect their content and financial livelihoods by diversifying across multiple platforms that respect their digital rights. We will be releasing migration tools for a variety of major networks and are spearheading this movement with the YouTube Migration.
As this is a beta product, please make sure you are opted-in to Canary experimental mode to access the feature.
Here is how to get started:
Step 1: Turn on Canary experimental mode
Step 2: Go to Settings > Other > YouTube Migration
Step 3: Paste in your YouTube Channel ID
Step 4: Paste your Minds channel URL in your YouTube channel description
Step 5: Click “Connect to your YouTube” in your Minds settings
Voila!
You are now enabled to migrate any and all videos from your YouTube library as well as sync so that each new upload to YouTube automatically uploads to Minds natively. There is no cap on length of videos and it includes thumbnail, title, description and tags. (Note: In the interest of a smooth launch please don't move every video right away. We will add a 'Select All' button assuming everything stays stable)
Please help spread the word to disillusioned YouTubers about this and how they can earn for migrating their content to Minds and joining Pro. Please let us know your feedback in the Canaries group.
Thank you for being a pioneer of the free and open Internet!
