When I was growing up in the Soviet Union everything was scarce especially food. Bananas are the cheapest fruit in America that one can buy in any store. However, in the Soviet Union you had to know some people with "connections" to be able to get bananas. This clip from the Moscow on the Hudson movie shows a perfect reaction of a former Soviet citizen to the freedom of choices in America. https://youtu.be/VHIcmoY3_lE
