How to add MINDS token to MetaMask [With screenshots].

Did you buy minds coins and not able to use them because they are not showing up in MetaMask? 

I just figured out how to make the tokens show up so I will share with the community.  If you like my posts you can follow  @or1g1nAL

First things first:  

You have to be signed up for Minds and buy tokens from Minds or another exchange. 

To buy tokens you need to install the MetaMask extension and transfer Ether to your wallet.

Can't use your tokens?

After you buy the tokens they will show up in your profile wallet on Minds but not in MetaMask (where you can actually spend/transfer them).

To make your MINDS tokens show up in your MetaMask wallet you have to add a custom token.

Click on the MetaMask extension in your browser, then Click 'ADD TOKEN'

In the upper right of your browser you will see the MetaMask extension, click on it and click the ADD TOKEN button.  Searching for token does not currently work for MINDS.

Fill out the fields like this example (it will not say 'token has been added' for you).

What to put in the ADD TOKEN fields:

Token Address:  0xb26631c6dda06ad89b93c71400d25692de89c068

Token Symbol:  MINDS

Decimals:  18

Tokens will now show up!

All done tokens show up!

Your MINDS tokens will now show up in MetaMask and you will be able to send them to Boost your content on Minds [or send me a tip if you wish ;)]

Bonus: Transfer tokens to Offchain Wallet.

When you buy the tokens they show up in your OnChain wallet, meaning it costs an ether 'gas fee' to send.  For small amounts (IE boosting a post) this is VERY inefficient as the gas will be higher than the cost of the token.

To solve this you can 'wire' a friend a larger amount of tokens  from your OnChain wallet, and have them wire you back the funds.  Wired funds end up on your OffChain wallet!

Edit:  I tried this method with @severinsuveren (Thank you for your contribution to this) and it failed.  If you wire funds to someone from your OnChain wallet it will show up in their OnChain unfortunately.  

So as of now the only way to spend tokens that are bought is by using gas.

How do you lower the gas price?

You can edit the gas price in MetaMask:

Click Edit before sending.

Lower Gas price and Save.

New price shows up, now Confirm.

Using lower gas price could mean a slower transaction.  Especially if the Etherium network is busy and congested, you will have to wait.

Use ETH Gas Station for current network conditions to help you choose what gas price to use.

Is it possible to convert MIND tokens to Ether or another currency?

As of right now it is not, you can only spend them on the platform.  Presumably this could be possible in the future.

EDIT: You Can now TRADE MINDS TOKENS for ETH on an Exchange!
