Whether you're a die-hard Twilight or Vampire Diaries fan or a casual reader, there's a lot of interesting information to learn about vampires.

What is a vampire?

The origin of the word  ' Vampire' comes from Slavic folklore and means "spirit that returns from the dead."

Vampires are ‘The walking dead’ Creatures of the night that suck the blood from their victims, leaving them pale-faced and lifeless. They have been a popular figure in horror stories for hundreds of years, but what makes vampires so terrifying?

In this blog, I will explore some of the lesser-known facts about Vampires, including how they have been portrayed throughout history, who was the first written vampire of all time, and why vampires are so fascinating to us.

History of the Vampire!

Vampires have been a part of human history since the beginning of time. The earliest reference to vampires was found in ancient Sumerian cuneiform tablets from 3000 BC.

These tablets referred to creatures that were described as “night demons” who left their bodies at night to drink blood from men and animals.

The Ancient Greeks believed that vampirism was caused by an evil spirit known as a daemon, who would possess people and make them murder.

In many cultures, it is believed that Vampires are actually ghosts or spirits of dead people who come back to take revenge on the living.

The First Vampire

The first vampire story can be traced back to Bram Stoker's Dracula being one of the most famous vampires in the world. The character was named after Vlad the Impaler, who was notorious for his cruelty towards his enemies.

There are three types of real Vampires: Sanguinarian, Psychic, and Hybrids.
