I am especially interested in teaching IT/Computer English & Business English but have experience in various forms of specialized English instruction - with over 25 years of professional work related experience and a particular focus on supplementing and optimizing the learning and teaching process via various forms of blended learning and e-learning.
In late 2006, I initiated/created a virtual world language learning community called VIRTLANTIS ( see
http://www.virtlantis.com ) which largely made use of the virtual world of Second Life® for the offering of free language learning activities as well as special events related to culture, art and music - though over the years some activities have also taken place in other virtual environments such as OpenSim®, Kitely®, Sinescape®, etc.
VIRTLANTIS will soon experience a sort of reboot in order to better deal with ongoing expenses as well as more optimally meet the needs/desires of both language learners and teachers.
We hope to also strengthen our current collaborations as well as seek out additional win-win scenarios with other likeminded online groups and communities. As the aim is not to make a profit but merely secure funds for the covering of recurring costs and future investments in our efforts, VIRTLANTIS will soon request crowdfunding assistance from those who wish to support and benefit from the wide variety of advantages which our experienced virtual world language learning community has to offer.
