PETA’s logo is a bunny, particularly becaues they are one of the most abused animals on the planet - for the following reasons:
For Their Flesh

Their necks are slit and they are hung upside down for the blood to drain.

This is done en masse.

After being thrown around, cut and bled, their muscle is pushed at people as food.
For Their Fur
Rabbits are literally ripped apart for their fur. This video follows the dangerous and viscious practice of the Angora fur industy
For Experimentation
Every year, more than 241,000 rabbits are totured in animal studies. Toxic chemicals are put in their eyes causing swelling and discharge, among other, unknown, side effects.
Often, they are experimented on as if they were lifeless husks, while still alive.
For Bizzare Entertainment
Rabbits are used in magic shows and as props, sometimes abused as Easter gifts. Discarded rabbits can end up in places like this hoarding facility, known as Bunny Magic, masqueraded as a “no-kill” sanctuary.
Take care of these creatures. They are relatively defenseless and need the strongest among us to protect them.
