Model Citizens

The Android. This is a 3D printed model I got on Ebay. There was no box, just the pieces in a zip lock bag, and this pic on the listing on Ebay (It's also the avatar for this group page)

The Parts

Android primered in German Brown (red/brown)

Put liquid mask around the manhole before painting to protect the 'cement' area

The base. Used a red/brown for the manhole color, then loaded a brush with a black wash and laid the brush head in spots on the manhole to create 'stains' on the metal. The 'cement' on top of the base (that little grey strip around the manhole) was done by painting the rest of...See more

Base color on the android. I have the worlds worst camera. It makes everything look spotty and blurry. The color here is copper, like a penny.

Got the pieces painted. Used a light brown, gold, silver, black, copper and sherbet green (put a drop of green on your finger and then just poke random spots of the model to give the 'metal' parts an 'oxidized' corroded look) Then the whole thing got 3 black washes to make him look old, dirty, and rusted

Getting him glued together. Used a 2 part epoxy. The android arm holding onto the human arm covered in muck is not glued into the base in this pic. I'm just figuring out where exactly the android should be placed, so I have the arm in the sewer hole for reference.
