A Hebridean Retrospective

Communities in the Western Isles of Scotland are experiencing a significant decline in population in comparison to communities in the Northern Isles, which are experiencing growth. If you have moved away from, or currently live in but consider leaving the Western Isles, then we would like to know more about your experiences. To keep this constructive, it might be helpful to frame your responses so that they answer the following questions: 1. What was/is good? 2. What could/can be better? 3. What could bring you back, or change your mind about leaving? Perhaps, by eliciting feedback from people who have lived and live here, we can begin to understand more clearly what lies at the root of population decline, and how our community might halt or reverse it.
