The call of the mountains has been with me for as long as I can remember. My greatest peace has always been found in solitude, surrounded by the wonders of the natural world. For me, the high country has always felt like home — a place where the noise of life fades and clarity begins.
In 2016, I turned a lifelong dream into reality. I left the corporate world behind and found my sanctuary in the majestic beauty of the Sierra Nevada. Building a mountain cabin and embracing a life in harmony with nature and my faith has been the fulfillment of that dream, and it has brought me a deep and lasting contentment.
I retired my career as an engineer and designer in advanced digital communications. I now dedicate my days to writing, cooking, growing things, exploring both my surroundings and my inner self, and learning the traditional ways of living that help me to thrive off-grid.
Join me on this journey of discovery, simplicity, and self-reliance as I embrace the beauty and challenges of seeking peace and solitude with a life that celebrates nature, creation, and man's relationship to it.

Welcome to Beehive Yourself – we are big into honeybees!
We have started this channel showcase both the work of Beehive Yourself but also some of our interest, particularly on topic relating to beekeeping history.
We have two apiaries: one on the Berkshire Downs and the other in the market town of Wantage, in southern Oxfordshire, England.
The Wantage apiary is situated in a suburban garden, a few streets away from Wantage Hospital and the garden centre. Here, bees benefit from the flora of the gardens and public spaces, as well as the surrounding arable fields.
The Downland apiary is situated on piece of land which is semi-woodland. Here, bees benefit from the agricultural crops, with oil-seed-rape and field bean being the most common. Beside crops, there are plenty of other flowers for the bees to forage, particulary trees, thistles, brambles and ivy.

I know this doesn't sound very professional, but in a day and age where everyone either wants to all wear a mask of dignity or be a complete slob...
I am exhausted of it and would just rather be myself.
I will treat others by how much I know them and how I am treated. I try to put out as much positivity and objective thinking as possible so I receive the same treatment back.
If this is abused, I won't be so nice. Just because I am nice does not mean that I am open to being abused.
