Demon Slayer is getting a spinoff manga about Kyojuro Rengoku. . . The final chapter of the Demon Slayer manga is out now, but the series isn’t over. A short spin-off series about Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Pillar, is in the works by Ryōji Hirano. Though the spinoff is not going to be made by Demon Slayer creator Koyoharu Gotouge, Hirano has worked on several spinoffs for this series, including Giyu Tomioka: Gaiden, a two-chapter story about the Water Pillar. There hasn’t been a date announced for the spinoff, but the Demon Slayer: Infinity Train movie will hit theaters in Japan on Oct. 16. Seeing how the infinity train arc prominently features Kyojuro Rengoku, we will probably learn more about the character before the movie drops. This spinoff manga is going to be short, so while we can expect to learn about Rengoku’s past, this won’t be a replacement for the series. It’s unknown if more spinoffs will be created to flesh out the backstories of the other pillars, but we certainly wouldn’t oppose. All of Demon Slayer is available to read for Shonen Jump subscribers. If you’re not a subscriber, you can still read the first three chapters and the last three chapters for free.
