The election process clearly needs major revisions. But given that each state is separately responsible for the process they use it will be tough to put in place a system that makes the process free, fair and open to involvement by independent and third party candidates. The biggest thing I learned is that the system is in bad need of repair. Secondly I learned that if voters were able to learn about non establishment candidates and their positions the major parties would often lose their jobs.
