The GOP has the power to shift the focus of their platform to more big tent ideas, but they won't because they're afraid of the Fundie wing of the party. If the GOP stops focusing on abortion and anti-LGBT issues, yeah the fundies might be mad. But who else are they gonna vote for? Democrats who support abortion and are farther left on LGBT issues? Libertarians who oppose governmental banning of abortion and are farther left on LGBT issues? The fundies would have no choice. #GOP #abortion #LGBT #politics
