October Harvest

My garden has been pumping out winecap mushrooms. Winecaps are interesting because you don't start them in logs like many other varieties, instead they do best on a mulched surface. Straw can work, but it isn't long lasting. Hardwood chips are better. I did a bed of leaves and hardwood chips in my garden pathways as mushroom beds and now they keep popping up. I missed a few, but now I check regularly and I've been getting them much younger. Need a bit of cleaning, but that's not an issue.
