A blurb today regarding section 1078 of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act made me remember this: There is a case--I believe in the New York Supreme Court (O'Reilly v. Mitchell; 1914)--where a guy tried to sue an elected politician for failing to keep campaign promises.
