Neither hero nor villain, but I've had my ups and downs.
Since my medical retirement from the US Army in 2011, I've been learning to live with depression, agoraphobia, and chronic pain, all while negotiating a truce with my addiction to opiates. Things are looking up. These days I'm clean by choice, and I've been working at that every day since early 2012.
As you read this, I'm almost certainly curled up with a cat (or laptop) in front of the fire at my 40-acre homestead on Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
