Stoicism and Secular Buddhism

This is a group where posts go about the worldviews without needing a deity or religion. Stoicism, taught and practiced by ancient Greeks and recently revived, shows many similarities to secular Buddhism. I'm not a philosopher, just an enthusiast.

On the awareness of our inevitable death. The guest is a buddhist who helps terminally ill people to face their fate and has a lot to share. While not strictly related to Stoicism, Virtue Ethics plays a very big role in it. Here is a lecture series which I found very useful. Episode #5 is dedicated on ancient Stoicism and compares Aristotelian virtue ethics to Stoic virtue ethics.
